Holiday crafting fun!

Hi everyone!

I hope everyone has been having a nice and smooth holiday season so far. This has been the first year that I have vowed to actually get all of my Christmas shopping done at least a week before christmas, ( I am normally a huge shopping procrastinator) and WAA LAA! I actually accomplished my goal. Yay me! :) As promised in my last entry,  I have been working on and now finished the holiday craft I've been eyeing for quite some time on pinterest. Drum roll please.. I made the good ol' trusty crocheted infinity scarf! The one I am going to display is the first one I made. It was for myself (just in case it didn't turn out so well.) And, well I actually did such a good job that I have made two more as gifts!

To start out I got the idea when I was doing my usual binge on www.pinterest.com . I came across some girl that had displayed a really pretty purple colored scarf, (purple is my FAVORITE color ;) ) and when I clicked into it, it said "Easy Infinity scarf pattern. Well I showed the picture to my Grandmother who knows how to crochet and she said she would help me and that it would be really simple to learn. We watched the video that the girl posted just to make sure we were doing an "infinity" scarf and ran to the craft store and got all of our supplies.

Here is the link to the girls post. I found it pretty helpful :)
http://wevetriedit.com/easy-how-to-crochet-infinity-scarf/

So here is the supplies you need. I followed what the girl in the video said she used just to start out with, which was a 11.5mm needle and a nice thick wool roll. (purple of course)

When you start out, your first move is to do a single chain, she says about 72 inches long.
Now once the chain is the desired length your will do a slip stitch and link the two ends which then leads to your second row.

You will continue doing rows until your desired width. Keep in mind each time you get to the area where you started all you need to do is a slip stitch and make sure to keep the scarf straight. don't let it twist. Here is after a couple more rows :)
And a couple more!
Now we are looking like pros!!
So once you've gotten to your desired width and back to the starting point, you are going to slip stitch again and tie a little knot. Then you will want to tuck all loose ends in by threading them into thicker spots. They should hold pretty well and won't unravel.

Here is the finished product :)

So the whole thing took me maybe just a few days but with me only doing a little bit at a time because we've been so busy getting ready for Christmas and seeing family. But if you were to sit and give yourself maybe 2 hours you can have a cheap, quick and super pretty gift made.

Happy crocheting!!!

We're Back!

Happy late Thanksgiving!!

I hope everyone had a fun Thanksgiving, I know we did! We made the long drive back to good ol' Arizona to spend the holiday with all of our family. Our day was full of lots of food, laughs and also lots of shopping. In my last post I went over the different deals at Target and boy was my black Friday a success! This year the girls and I had to do things a little different due to the fact that the stores decide to open so early and lots of us had multiple families to visit. But a lot of the stores did give us a little treat and put lots of their items on their websites early so you could avoid the chaos and still have a chance at the deals. I for one started with www.target.com I was able to purchase the boots, google chromecast and a few other things online in a matter of minutes. All these items are in my previous post :) Later that night the girls and I headed out to brave whatever was left of the crowds. We started at Target and ended with Kohls.

This was my shopping crew, My sister in law and cousin :)

I'd say I think we had a ton of luck and also scored some major savings! There are still some really great deals going on at a lot of stores. My favorite way to save is to use online mobile coupons. They are easy to access and most websites have straight forward links. Another great sight that posts daily deals for your holiday shopping is www.retailmenot.com

Hope your holiday shopping is going smooth and I will be posting a fun little craft that I'm going to attempt soon that can be made for a pretty gift or just something for yourself.

It's approaching!

Happy Monday everyone!

In just a few days my little family here will be making the trek back home for the Thanksgiving holiday. Thanksgiving is one of my favorite holidays! It means lots of food including my favorite pumpkin pie, lots of family and lots of shopping!! Which brings me to my topic of the day, the one the only BLACK FRIDAY.. or as for the past couple years Thursday. For the past couple years my sister in law and I have made it a fun and chaotic tradition of braving the crowds on this crazy shopping day. I figured I would share within the next couple of days our favorite places, ads and also the times they will be opening this year. Our first stop is always Target. Their ad is already up so this gives plenty of time to look over and have a game plan. Here is their link.
Target will be opening at 6pm thursday and they will be giving out holiday crackers with prizes on the inside to the first handful of people at each location! There are a couple of items that I recommend   for gifts or something fun for yourself. First is the google chromecast!

I bought this as a gift for my husband for valentines day last year and I can say we have definatly gotten my moneys worth and now its on sale for $24.99! I plan on buying this as a gift for a couple of my family members as this is a nice little discount!  The second item I recommend was something I bought for myself last black friday. They are one of my favorite pairs of inexpensive boots. These babies have been worth every penny. They are the perfect height on the calf and are super comfortable. I even wore them all day in disneyland, hours and hours of walking and survived! Heres the pic of them from their ad!
The last item I want to share is one that I tried to snag for a couple of years and last year finally succeeded! Its a metal fire pit for your back yard that includes the lid for fly aways. Make sure that if this is an item that you are really wanting you go and grab it first because they are at a great price and usually have limited quantities.
So these are my favorite from Target, helpful tip for those of you that may be new to the Target store black friday. They do not have the items in the ads where you would normally find them, make sure when you are braving the outside line to ask one of the stores employees if they have a store map of the items locations. They will give you one and you will be able to run run run to success!

                                                                    Happy Shopping!

Heres to new adventures.

Well hello there!

Let me start by saying welcome! Thank you for taking the time and interest in reading my new adventure. A little about me, the past couple years have been a whirlwind of fun times, changes and lots of love.  3 Years ago i got married, bought a house, added another fur baby into our family then just a few months ago we took a leap and were the first of the family to flee the coop. Since the move I've had to change how things go and have had a lot of extra time on my hands and decided i want to share some of my different interests, craft ideas and deal hopping fun. So sit back, get comfy and enjoy the ride.
